PARIVAR’S VISIT TO SHRIMATI KAMLA MEHTA BLIND SCHOOL ON 15TH JUNE  AND PARAMASHANTIDHAM OLD AGE HOME  ON 17TH JUNE

Report by Ajay.J.Nadkarni

This year being P.P Parijnanashram swamijis 60th birth anniversary year, we parivaris have decided to celebrate this year by conducting various social programmes throughout the year.We started these programmes on  Shree swamijis birthday itself i.e 15th June..Gulvadi Mohanmam  suggested  Shrimati Kamla Mehta blind school, A residential school for blind girls .This school located at Dadasaheb Phalke road ,Dadar   with excellent infrastructure and amenities houses 160 blind girls aged between 6 and 16 years. We all decided to celebrate Swamijis 60th birthday in this school.

On 15th June we all gathered at the school premises at 12.00 noon..The girls who were previously  informed of our visit were excited to celebrate swamijis birthday with us.They had all gathered at the Dining hall.At exactly 12.20,The janma ghatika of  P.P  swamiji ,  Mangeshmam Kuber helped smallest inmate of school to cut a cake..

All the girls sang “Happy birthday to Swamiji” in one voice .After jaijaikars of  P.P Parijnanashram swamiji  the cake was distributed among all the girls. After the cake was cut ,all the girls were served sumptuous lunch. Then Shashimam Balse  briefed everyone on  P.P Swamijis lifesketch  and Parijnan Parivar’s goals and objectives. All  the girls were very happy  to find a unique change in their  daily Time- table and their  smile and happiness  made the atmosphere pleasant and  divine. The lunch for the blind students and the staff was sponsored by Shri Anant & Smt.Sarita Kodkani.

On 17th June, Parivaris visited “Paramashantidham” an old age home  founded by Mahant  Abanandgiri  a disciple of  Mahatapasvi Gagangiri Maharaj of Khopoli  situated at Taloja  village in the outskirts of  Mumbai. This old age home with all basic amenities and excellent facilities houses 76 senior citizens .All the senior citizens of this home are either abandoned by their children or have no relatives to depend upon. The Trust takes care of their boarding , lodging and free medical  check-ups and treatment.

We reached there at about 9.00 am.At about 9.30 all the old people who had gathered  in the dining  hall  were served delicious idli-chatni and sweets. After breakfast all the inmates gathered in  their prayer hall where Mahant Abanandgiri  briefed us about their institution and their work. This organization which started in 1988 , has so far given succour to nearly 750 senior citizens. After few bhajans ,Shashimam Balse briefed everyone on P.P Swamijis lifesketch and Parijnan parivars objectives and goals. Then  Shri Jagdishmam Balse  and Nirmalapachi Balse distributed thermos flask and towels to all the  inmates. Then Parivaris went to each and everybody’s room and had a nice chat with all of them. The inmates were very happy and asked us to visit them frequently. At about 1pm all were served delicious lunch. At 3 pm we took leave of them and headed back to Mumbai. The visit to old age home was very emotional reflecting how todays culture is taking the toll on seniors of all the communities. Our Prayers to P.P swamiji  to give us strength to visit such old age homes every year  and help them.
