PARIVAR’S VISIT TO SHRIMATI KAMLA MEHTA BLIND SCHOOL ON 15TH JUNE AND PARAMASHANTIDHAM OLD AGE HOME ON 17TH JUNE Report by Ajay.J.Nadkarni This year being P.P Parijnanashram swamijis 60th birth anniversary year, we parivaris have decided to celebrate this year by conducting various social programmes throughout the year.We started these programmes on Shree swamijis birthday itself i.e 15th June..Gulvadi Mohanmam suggested Shrimati Kamla Mehta blind school, A residential school for blind girls .This school located at Dadasaheb Phalke road ,Dadar with excellent infrastructure and amenities houses 160 blind girls aged between 6 and 16 years.We all decided to celebrate Swamijis 60th birthday in this school.
On 15th June we all gathered at the school premises at 12.00 noon..The girls who were previously informed of our visit were excited to celebrate swamijis birthday with us.They had all gathered at the Dining hall.At exactly 12.20,The janma ghatika of P.P swamiji , Mangeshmam Kuber helped smallest inmate of school to cut a cake.. All the girls sang “Happy birthday to Swamiji” in one voice .After jaijaikars of P.P Parijnanashram swamiji the cake was distributed among all the girls.After the cake was cut ,all the girls were served sumptuous lunch.Then Shashimam Balse briefed everyone on P.P Swamijis lifesketch and Parijnan Parivar’s goals and objectives.All the girls were very happy to find a unique change in their daily Time- table and their smile and happiness made the atmosphere pleasant and divine. The lunch for the blind students and the staff was sponsored by Shri Anant & Smt.Sarita Kodkani. On 17th June, Parivaris visited “Paramashantidham” an old age home founded by Mahant Abanandgiri a disciple of Mahatapasvi Gagangiri Maharaj of Khopoli situated at Taloja village in the outskirts of Mumbai.This old age home with all basic amenities and excellent facilities houses 76 senior citizens .All the senior citizens of this home are either abandoned by their children or have no relatives to depend upon. The Trust takes care of their boarding , lodging and free medical check-ups and treatment. We reached there at about 9.00 am.At about 9.30 all the old people who had gathered in the dining hall were served delicious idli-chatni and sweets.After breakfast all the inmates gathered in their prayer hall where Mahant Abanandgiri briefed us about their institution and their work.This organization which started in 1988 , has so far given succour to nearly 750 senior citizens.After few bhajans ,Shashimam Balse briefed everyone on P.P Swamijis lifesketch and Parijnan parivars objectives and goals.Then Shri Jagdishmam Balse and Nirmalapachi Balse distributed thermos flask and towels to all the inmates.Then Parivaris went to each and everybody’s room and had a nice chat with all of them.The inmates were very happy and asked us to visit them frequently.At about 1pm all were served delicious lunch.At 3 pm we took leave of them and headed back to Mumbai.The visit to old age home was very emotional reflecting how todays culture is taking the toll on seniors of all the communities.Our Prayers to P.P swamiji to give us strength to visit such old age homes every year and help them.
